A slow cooker is an electric appliance that cooks food at a low temperature for a long time. It’s also known as a crock pot, though not all slow cookers are Crock Pots.

Slow cookers use moist heat and low temperatures to cook food. The pot is heated from below, and the steam created cooks the food.
