Cookware for the kitchen includes items that you use to cook food on the stove or in the oven. There are many types of cookware for the kitchen that you can choose from, such as:

Cookware sets: Collections of pots, pans and other cookware pieces that match and provide versatility for different cooking needs. Some cookware sets are made of stainless steel, non-stick or cast iron.

Frypans: Flat-bottomed pans that you use to fry, saute or sear food. Some frypans have non-stick coatings, lids or handles that can go in the oven.

Grill pans: These are pans that have raised ridges that create grill marks and drain excess fat from food. They are ideal for grilling meat, fish or vegetables on the stove.

Roasting Pans and Dishes: Perfect for roasting meats and vegetables in the oven. They are made from stainless steel, non stick, enamelled metal, heat proof glass or glazed ceramic.

French Ovens: A cast iron pot with a lid, featuring a snug fitting lid to seal in moisture. Ideal for one pot cooking recipes including casseroles. French Ovens are usually designed to use on both a stovetop and in an oven. Colourful enamelled cast iron French Ovens are popular for serving food at a table.

Steamers: Stainless steel steamers use the heat of steam to cook food while retaining nutrients that may be lost in some other cooking methods. Steamers are either designed to sit on the top of a saucepan, or are made in a set of 1 or 2 tiered steamers with a base pot and lid included. Steamers are popular for cooking vegetables, fish and dumplings.
